About Me
As a person with the lived experience of OCD, I know what it is like to struggle with perfectionism and anxiety about worst-case scenario possibilities. This led me to work on the best modalities for OCD, including Acceptance Commitment Therapy, EXP and most recently, Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Having personal experience with grief and loss, I have become a “grief nerd” and try to find all the ways to work through my own sadness and overwhelming feelings after losing people close to me. I can guide you through what you might find helpful from my work your with grief journey including creative projects, visuals and coping skills that help with grief..
Finding EMDR is one of the ways I have found relief from the sudden and unexpected losses in my life. I have lived through traumatic events and experienced what my body has employed to try to keep me safe and protect me. My interest in treating people with complex trauma comes from a place of finding what has worked for me. EMDR, Trauma Narratives in TF-CBT and DBT skills can decrease your distress and help with finding healing. Beciming EMDR CERTIFIED has given me the knowledge to help others get through traumatic expereinces.
My dreams include visiting my hometown, Vancouver, Canada, on road trips as often as possible, and travelling locally and around the globe. Two of my favourite places here in Utah are Mirror Lake and Tibble Fork Reservoir. Recently I went with a friend to Germany, Switzerland and Austria. And this summer, I plan to visit Japan. And spending time with my beautiful Polynesian husband, six boys with three of those adopted,, two labs and four cats. I am passionate about life, interested in meeting and making connections with other people, and I dream about my next travelling adventure!

My purpose is to help you learn to experience abiding peace regardless of what has or will happen to you, and to become your own master therapist. I guide you in discovering core issues driving distress so healing can be experienced thoroughly and enduringly.
I focus heavily on teaching the science and principles behind emotional, social, and physiological experiences so you can make sense of your situation. This is key to feeling power to do something about what isn’t working. I then guide you in connecting with your core to find your unique solutions—that actually work.
I have specific experience working with trauma, anxiety and depression, performance psychology, relationship issues, narcissists in relationships, sexual abuse, psychosis, scrupulosity, and early return missionaries. I enjoy working with people of every age.
I use techniques that don’t require you to speak aloud your “deepest darkest” experiences to effectively heal. For example, Critical Memory Integration (CMI) involves following sensations in your body to quickly connect with subconscious experiences. Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) uses eye movement desensitization to neutralize emotions associated with troubling memories.
My life’s story has spun in ways I never anticipated and has given me cause to to seek nerdy levels of understanding about myself and relationships. What I have learned has saved my life - and it turns out, I really like my life! It would be a privilege to walk awhile with you as you traverse—and come to love—your own epic tale of woe and wonder.
I am mother to three teenagers, previously coached competitive swimming for 10 years, and relish swimming long open water races. My geeky hobbies include being a mad scientist in the kitchen creating soap and lotion (and sometimes dinner). I am a creator and truth seeker. Your story and struggles are safe here.
Hi! I am accepting new clients!
If you are feeling emotionally bankrupt in one or many relationships, I can help. My experience is deeply rooted in the precious commodity of felt safety and what happens to people when that flourishes or fades. One of my passions has been creating a shift in family interaction, where trauma has created old and fresh wounds in today's experiences. I work with attachment needs, grief and loss, betrayal, trauma and bonding. I enjoy engaging in therapy with individuals, couples and families. I love this work! We can do the process together. There may be swears, tears and most certainly laughter. Bring it all!
Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples (EFT), Trust-Based Relational Interventions (TBRI), Internal Family Systems (IFS) Neuroscience, and you all guide my practice. Additionally, I utilize Family Systems theory and a variety of other experiential dynamics that can elicit purposeful change and find interactions that help heal and earn secure connections.
Together, we can work toward creating a new map, diminishing the risks and fears, and building a new cohesive story of how we got here and where you want to be going. Happiness and joy do not require a perfect story but a truth you can honor. Together, we can create the goals and provisions to empower success.

My name is Preston Walker, and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist with expertise in treating ADHD and PTSD. I combine neurofeedback, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and memory reconsolidation to help clients understand and address the root causes of their symptoms. My approach is supportive and goal-oriented, focusing on empowering clients to find practical solutions while fostering lasting emotional growth.
I typically work with adults and adolescents struggling with ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, and other mood-related challenges. I also assist individuals seeking to improve focus, emotional regulation, and overall mental well-being. My diagnostic strengths allow me to pinpoint the sources of symptoms, ensuring clients receive the most effective and targeted treatment.
In our first session, I’ll focus on understanding your story, exploring what brings you to therapy, and discussing your goals. We’ll work together to identify patterns, strengths, and immediate areas to address. This initial session is a judgment-free space where you can feel safe sharing your concerns while beginning to build trust.

I specialize in helping adults facing anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma through Art Therapy, Mind-Body Bridging, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), goal-setting, and Narrative Therapy. These modalities will help you to reconnect with yourself, set meaningful goals, and rewrite your personal story in a creative and safe environment.
Your interests and aspirations will guide how we spend our time together because I believe everything to be a collaboration, especially your therapeutic journey. You have the ability to create a life full of peace and joy. I want to provide a space where you can have honest conversations with yourself and move from “just surviving” into “thriving”.
I am compassionate and open-minded. I will balance listening, challenging, and teaching depending on what you need most in any given moment. I understand that honesty and safety are crucial for any therapeutic relationship. You will always know what to expect with me because we will set expectations together during each of our sessions. Additionally, for those interested in integrating spirituality into the healing process, I am prepared to bring faith or spirituality as much, or as little, as is relevant to you.
I am currently accepting new clients (Telehealth only). I typically have availability in the afternoons and early evenings Monday through Thursday. I find fulfillment from working with individuals who have mental health challenges because I learn so much from their strength and resiliency.
I have been treating trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for the past two years. I have seen some of the best and fastest results from using this modality to treat symptoms of PTSD and dissociation, particularly online via telehealth. I am also trained in other modalities of trauma treatment such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) for Individuals, which often help people uncover their complex trauma. In addition to treating trauma, I enjoy treating anxiety and OCD using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Lastly, I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to treat emotional dysregulation, particularly for individuals who have Borderline Personality Disorder and/or who struggle with self-harm.
I seek to actively listen and validate your experiences so you feel safe to express and feel your emotions. Your voice is the most important one in therapy. I am client-centered and follow your lead in therapy on topics that are important to you. If you are unsure of what to talk about, I will redirect you back to your treatment goals so that you feel like you are making progress towards becoming your best self each session. Throughout treatment, I use Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help guide your decision-making process until you feel confident in your abilities to cope with your mental health and you no longer need therapy. :)
I am a wife of a medical student and a mother of a beautiful baby girl. Aside from enjoying my family life, I find joy each day from little things such as reading scriptures and other good books, exercising, eating sweets, and FaceTiming my nieces and nephews.
