I have degrees in Social Work (MS ’24), Marriage, Family, & Human Development (MS ’07), and Exercise Science (BS ’04). My training includes Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Critical Memory Integration (CMI), Growth Climate/Intuitive Relationships, Process Communication Model (PCM), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have specific experience working with trauma, anxiety and depression, narcissists in relationships, sexual abuse, psychosis, scrupulosity, early return missionaries, and performance psychology. I enjoy working with people of every age.
My purpose is to help people learn to experience abiding peace regardless of what has or will happen to them, and to become their own master therapists. I guide clients in discovering core issues driving distress and trauma responses so healing can be experienced thoroughly, deeply, and enduringly.
I am mother to three teenagers, previously coached competitive swimming for 10 years, and relish swimming long open water races (though I only really like them when I’m done). My geeky hobbies include mad scientist in the kitchen creating soap and lotion (and sometimes dinner). I am a creator and truth seeker. Your story and struggles are safe here.

Welcome. It takes courage and bravery to reach out when looking for therapy. We am glad you are here.
Brene Brown wrote, "Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light".
Depression diminishes that light within us and tells us we are not worthy. We feel broken. We believe it is in this brokenness that we can find strength, just as the Japanese art of Kintsugi does. We can find ways to work through depression, grief, and anxiety with courage and start to find what matters for you and work toward it together. We can help you find hope and meaning in your life again.
Kintsugi is an art form where the potter fills gold into the parts of a broken pot to transform its brokenness into beauty. We can find beauty in our imperfections. We believe in post-traumatic growth. We want to take your story and help you believe in yourself again. We can work together on a new perspective on your self-defeating story. We can create a safe space for you to talk about your feelings with no judgment. We will work through your feelings of hopelessness. We can give you strategies to cope when you feel overwhelmed. Our goal is to help you feel supported in your challenges. You can learn to work through your emotions. IWe can help you face your fears and difficult emotions.
We often question whether what we have experienced is enough to talk to someone. Surely, it seems like it can't be "Trauma." We want you to know that however big or small your trauma is, you are worthy of and deserve to find hope and healing.
We believe therapy provides healing. We do this with a knowledge base of different types of therapy with compassion and kindness. We have trained in several therapy types depending on what you need. Our role is to assist you in becoming your true self by healing the parts of you that are hurting. The self in you has the power to find healing. You have all you need within you. We can guide you through your self-discovery to a place of acceptance.
Working through a faith transition? We are a safe person to discuss your feelings without judgement or reason to feel shame.
Our superpower is providing a safe place for you to feel you can tell your story and feel like it lands in a place where you can find growth and healing and find your authentic self.
“Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is love with no place to go.”
What is a Creative Grief Practitioner?
I have been trained to work with you to make meaning of your grief. Often, when we can work through our emotions in a creative manner, we can heal from our grief.
Join with me in an expressive arts exploration of your grief and feel open and curious and make meaning of the death of a loved one.
I have a 12 week program called " Grief Is Love" that I work with you that includes some of the following activities:
This program gives you a chance to decide which HeART activities you would like to complete in 12 weeks with me as your guide. If you are interested in my grief program and working with me on your healing grief, please contact me and ask me about my "Grief is Love" Program.
